Vero Maynez BIO

Vero Maynez (she/they) is a queer, Mexican-American stage and screen actor. Onscreen, one can catch Vero inaugurating @cheezit TikTok, in Cheez-It Puff'd & Cox Communications commercials, or in the upcoming independent features “Mr. Dust” (story by Spenser Parsons & Joe Swanberg, executive produced by Eddie Linker) and "Invader" (story by Mickey Keating, executive produced by Joe Swanberg, et al). Selected theatre credits include: Toros (2nd Stage--u/s), Alma (American Blues Theatre--u/s), The Snow Queen (The House Theatre), Bechdel Fest: Momentum (Broken Nose at Steppenwolf 1700), Feel the Spirit (Shotgun Players), The Mathematics of Love (Brava Theater Center), and The Christians (San Fransisco Playhouse). Vero has also had the privilege of working on staged readings with Keen Company, The Kennedy Center, Stages Houston, CATCO, Theatreworks Colorado Springs, Berkeley Repertory, Stage West, and Crowded Fire, to name a few, predominantly during the height of the pandemic. In addition to being an actor, Vero is a passionate teaching artist, having worked with theatres across the Chicagoland area like Writers, Prop Thtr, About Face, Silk Road Rising, Pegasus, and Mudlark. Vero is a 250-Hour Certified Yoga Instructor, teaches for Phoenix Yoga Project, has additional training from American Conservatory Theater, and is represented by Paonessa Talent Agency. She holds an MFA in Acting from DePaul University, and a BA in Theatre & Performance Studies with a minor in Spanish from UC Berkeley.

Lifeline Theatre has selected two incredible playwrights to take part in its inaugural Adapting to Stage Developmental Workshop and Showcase.
