Review: THE EXONERATED at Ridgefield Theater Barn

On Thursday, September 8th, I had the pleasure of seeing THE EXONERATED at The Ridgefield Theater Barn, in Ridgefield, CT.  This show is amazing, based on true stories, and sends some deeply impacting messages that touch the emotions to the core, in a good way. It opens awareness in the minds of the audience, about things not always being as they seem, and people not always being who they may appear to be.

BWW Review: Livin' La Vida DIVAS at Ridgefield Theater Barn

There are no weighty messages here. No high drama. Just fun stuff, listening to a couple of 60ish female actors, virtually joined at the hip, tease and tolerate each other with all manner of jokey repartee, acid-laced with rapier ripostes that cut to the quick.

BWW Review: THE DIVAS at Ridgefield Theater Barn

On Saturday, February 12, I had the pleasure of seeing THE DIVAS at the Ridgefield Theater Barn, in Ridgefield, CT.  This story, written by Jack Neary, is a comedic series of seven different one act plays that depict the lives of fictional divas Bethel and Clarice, two middle-aged stage actresses whose dynamics with each other define the term “frenemies,” as they are constantly competing for the same roles, in auditions, yet continue to interact with each other.  Directed by Michael Ferrara and Paulette Layton, this talented cast features Nancy Sinacori as Bethel and Deborah Connelly as Clarice, both of whom truly bring their characters to life!

THE DIVAS to Open in February at the Theater Barn

BWW Review: Big 'Mac' Is One-Man Show in ONE FLEW OVER THE CUCKOO'S NEST at Ridgefield Theater Barn

In the airless unfunny farm over which dour Nurse Ratched presides, McMurphy appears to foment anarchy. Yet, given the oppressive circumstances, the only thing subversive in his intention is to restore a sense of dignity and free will to those he views as the downtrodden -- captives of a rigged system that is oblivious to their best interests.
