Jacob Zuma, former President of South Africa, checks into a hospital only to find out that an old enemy, Ronnie Kasrils, who used to be in charge of the intelligence services, is staying in the opposite room. Gail Louw writes The Ice Cream Boys, detailing this chance meeting between the two. Directed by Vik Sivalingam and starring Jack Klaff as Kasrils, Andrew Francis as Zuma, and Bu Kunene as nurse Thandi (and a few other figures), it's a thrilling exploration of the crude reality of unpunished crimes.

Theatr Clwyd's latest co-production with the Menier Chocolate Factory takes on Tennessee Williams' Orpheus Descending. Last seen in London at the Donmar Warehouse in 2000 starring Helen Mirren and directed by Nicholas Hytner, it's now presented by Tamara Harvey in slightly bizarre form.

As soon as their Reaction Season was announced in autumn 2017, Jermyn Street Theatre launched a competition to all identifying as female playwrights; submissions were open and 390 anonymous people sent in a five-page scene responding to Noel Coward's Still Life. The winners - Morna Young, Emma Harding, and Jenny Ayres - were then commissioned a one-act play engaging with Coward's Tonight at 8:30, which resulted in Tomorrow at Noon.

Jermyn Street Theatre's Artistic Director Tom Littler brings to the stage Noel Coward's cycle of one-act plays in three ravishing triple bills. Tonight at 8:30 marks the biggest and most ambitious project in the theatre's life, but Littler makes it look like a walk in the park.

Final casting is announced for the first complete London revival of Noel Coward's Tonight at 8.30 since 1936, being staged by Jermyn Street Theatre as part of its The Reaction Season - 15 plays and musicals - 12 of them one-act - based around themes of reacting and re-enacting.
