Review: CHOIR BOY, Stratford East
by Katie Kirkpatrick - Apr 1, 2026

Having been on and off, in London, LA, and  New York, since 2012, Choir Boy clearly isn’t going away any time soon. While occasionally off-kilter, this immaculately performed powerhouse production is proof that it’s the kind of show that deserves a place among the classics

Review: JUNIPER BLOOD, Donmar Warehouse
by Cindy Marcolina - Aug 27, 2025

Worlds clash once again in Mike Bartlett’s universe. Lip and Ruth’s pull to return to nature is disrupted when Ruth’s stepdaughter, Millie, and her academically inclined best friend, Femi, visit the couple’s earthy homestead. This rural idyll, where the sky is enormous and the trees tell a story of their own, is suddenly disturbed by brutal talks of capitalist wars and nihilism while the economics of permaculture are discussed. What happens when ecological extremism starts to look like a sensible decision? Should we put our planet before our family? Generations lock horns, blame becomes currency, and the land watches on in three big scenes divided by two intervals. It’s all very Mike Bartlett-y.

BWW Review: 'DADDY', Almeida Theatre
by Charlie Wilks - Apr 7, 2022

An expansive luxurious pool dominates the Almeida stage, and a dripping wet young man stands in nothing but a speedo. A little more than drunk, he looks around at his current setting, taking in the grandeur of this beautiful home. Decorated with luxury art, it’s the home of collector Andre, a 40-something year old with a desire to possess the world’s finest things. For him, that doesn’t just consider esteemed paintings; it also means the boyish visitor currently standing in front of him.
