Matt Peters (“Orange Is The New Black”) took home Best Actor in a Supporting Role for his work as Charlie Moretti, Bobby’s tough brother. And Sheria Irving (FX’s “Kindred”; BET’s “Twenties”; and Broadway’s “Romeo and Juliet”) took home the 2023 honor for Best Actress In A Supporting Role for her performance as Lacey Harris, Bobby’s love interest.
Newly LA-Based actor, also known for his countless New York stage and concert work, Tim Realbuto was nominated for Best Leading Actor In A Motion Picture for his gripping, brave, transformative performance as the title character in ‘BOBCAT MORETTI’ at the Chandler International Film Festival Awards.
Two-time Pulitzer Prize finalist Branden Jacobs-Jenkins has made his television debut with a series adaptation of Octavia E. Butler’s seminal 1979 sci-fi novel Kindred. BroadwayWorld caught up with Jenkins, who is known for his plays like An Octoroon, Gloria, War, Appropriate, Neighbors and Everybody, to discuss the new series.
In order to successfully complete the film, Mr. Realbuto had to lose over 100 pounds while filming as stated in his contract. After losing 154 pounds, he broke the world record for most weight lost for a movie role in cinema history. The record was most recently held by Christian Bale, who reportedly lost 63 pounds for 2004’s ‘The Machinist.’
Red Bull Theater today announced the selections for The 2021 Short New Play Festival, their eleventh annual festival of 10-minute plays of heightened language and classic themes, featuring a World Premiere from José Rivera, alongside six brand new plays that have been selected from hundreds of open submissions from playwrights across the country.

The Stratford Festival’s “Antony and Cleopatra” will premiere Thursday, February 11 at 2 pm Pacific and is available on demand through May 12, 2021. The lavish Stratford Festival film is free to Center Theatre Group subscribers and supporters and $10 for all others.

As announced earlier this week, the festival will kick off the festival's 31st edition with the New York premiere of Mike Doyle's Manhattan-set ensemble rom-com SELL BY, featuring an eclectic cast including Scott Evans (Netflix's “Grace and Frankie”), Kate Walsh (ABC's “Grey's Anatomy”), Academy Award-nominee and Emmy Award-winner Patricia Clarkson, Michelle Buteau (Netflix's “Tales of the City”) and Augustus Prew (HIGH-RISE), and will close the festival with the New York premiere of Rodrigo Bellott's award-winning film TU ME MANQUES, which was recently announced as Bolivia's submission for Best International Feature Film selection for the 2019 Academy Awards.
