Burning Coal Theatre Company will present the U.S. premiere of Here in America, a new play by David Edgar, directed by Jerome Davis. Performances will run December 4–21, 2025, at the Murphey School (224 Polk Street, Raleigh, NC 27604).

Set in the 1960s, first performed in the 1980s, Away is an Australian classic which tells the story of three stories woven together with an embedded Shakespearean text of A Midsummer Night's Dream and ending with a passage from King Lear. Filled with pop culture references to going away, it's a show about escapism and the simplicity of escaping to the beach. It explores the human condition and themes of love, pain, trauma, loneliness of youth.

The theater has always been home to many long-lasting traditions. One of those traditions in the Triangle is Raleigh Little Theatre's annual Christmastime production of Cinderella. The production itself, which is the Prince Street Players version with some RLT flair, rather than the more familiar Rodgers and Hammerstein version, takes place at Christmas. The story is still the same one that has been loved for generations, complete with a fancy carriage, royal ball, and quest for the owner of the iconic glass slipper.
