If you were a fan of the television show Designing Women back in the 80s and early 90s (which I was), this show is for you. If you were not watching tv back then, this is still for you. Giving off a Feminist vibe with a southern spin from the moment you enter the theatre, this production covers all of today's topics including #metoo, Black Lives Matter, COVID, and Donald Trump. There is also a nod to Cardi B and the Kardashians.

The debut cast for the show includes actors from stage and screen. Broadway's Carmen Cusack (Wicked, Bright Star, South Pacific), a Tony Award nominee, plays the indomitable Julia Sugarbaker. Amy Pietz (Caroline in the City, The Office) will portray Suzanne Sugarbaker. Actor and comedian Sarah Colonna (Shameless, Chelsea Lately) takes on the role of Mary Jo Shively, while Elaine Hendrix (Dynasty, Parent Trap) plays Charlene Frazier to round out the iconic quartet.

The COPA Palm Springs presents funny lady Sarah Colonna for one very special performance on Saturday, October 24 at 8:00 pm. Sarah is well known as a popular roundtable regular on the hit late night talk show “Chelsea Lately.” She also served as a full time writer on “Chelsea Lately,” as well as a producer, writer and star of the show's spin-off scripted series “After Lately.”She was recently seen in Michael Rosenbaum's new movie “Back in the Day,” alongside Rosenbaum, Nick Swardson, Harland Williams, Morena Baccarin and many others. She's also recently appeared in Diablo Cody's “Paradise,” CBS' “Battle Creek,” and “Killing Hasselhoff” with Ken Jeong. Her first book, “Life as I Blow it,” debuted at number 5 on the New York Times Bestseller list, followed with a sold out book tour in several major cities in the country. Six professional comedians with geographic or personal ties to either the New England Patriots or Seattle Seahawks will support their teams in Enemy Territory, a pair of short comedy features that will run on ESPN SportsCenter in the days leading up to Super Bowl XLIX.
