Garry Marshall Theatre kicks off their 2022 season in their new GMT outdoor stage with Impro Theatre’s Jane Austen Unscripted April 16,2022.   Sara Mountjoy-Pepka co-directs (with Paul Rogan) Impro Theatre company members and live musicians as they mingle amongst the audience having afternoon tea and delectable treats from vendors from the GMT neighborhood. Sara carved open some time to give me a peek into the behind-the-scenes of Jane Austen, as well as her own back story of improv.

World famous Impro Theatre presents Jane Austen Unscripted, a delightfully humorous afternoon in the garden at Garry Marshall Theatre. Jane Austen Unscripted is a fully improvised play that brings the world of Jane Austen to life with your suggestions. Find yourself with a cup of English tea and treats amongst headstrong young women, brooding noblemen, and eccentric relatives.

Garry Marshall Theatre is kicking off its 2022 theatrical year with Jane Austen Unscripted presented on the new GMT outdoor stage, starring the critically acclaimed Impro Theatre. Join live musicians, delectable tea and treats, and the company members of Jane Austen Unscripted, in a modern, Regency comedy in the blooming Marshall Gardens. 

The new Main Company members include expert improv veterans, accomplished theatre performers seen on stages throughout the country, and established actors appearing in dozens of films and TV shows. The Main Company's growth fulfills part of Impro Theatre's goal to expand the artistic voices within the company to better represent the global population and share more stories from different perspectives. 

Two beloved plays by William Shakespeare are set to welcome audiences back to the spectacular outdoor venue at Will Geer's Theatricum Botanicum this summer.

New Century Theatre Company (NCTC) has announced that Darragh Kennan will assume the full position of Artistic Director for the company. He will continue to share leadership duties with Managing Director, Jamie Herlich. Former Co-Artistic Director, Hans Altwies, remains an active company member and now serves as Secretary on their Board of Directors. While he has stepped down as co-Artistic Director, a post which he has had since the company's inception in 2008, he is still very much a part of the company and will continue to be present in everything related to NCTC in the coming years.

In "The Music Man" Professor Hill teaches the school board how to sing by explaining to them that singing is just sustained talking. Unfortunately the creators of Annex Theatre's current production "A Mouse Who Knows Me" need to be explained that the same does not go for songwriting as many of the numbers in their world premiere musical about laboratory mice seemed to simply be sung dialog. This ultimately led to a cute show that droned on.

There have been cocktails, there have been capes, there have been cages full of kittens, and now, for the final main stage offering of Annex Theatre's 25th Anniversary Season, there will be critters, and control groups, and caterwauling. A Mouse Who Knows Me is a fully fledged original musical, with book and lyrics by Scotto Moore and music by Robertson Witmer. It has been in development for the past year, and is now deemed safe for public consumption.
