We talk about Rob's work as an Original Programming Producer at the Tony Award winning 54 Below, alongside such amazing artists as Stephen Schwartz, John Kander, Andre DeShields, and more.

Not every musical setting sails for Broadway finds a smooth trip or arrives at its destination. Some sink. But why? Was it the wrong captain or just stormy seas? Many carried marvelous musical cargo. J2 Spotlight Musical Theater Company have announced the complete company of WOMAN OF THE YEAR, along with photos from the first day of rehearsal, for the organization’s 2023 season opener: Woman of the Year (April 13 - 23, 2023).

Steve Keene’s first-ever NYC 30 Year Retrospective Show celebrating the release of The Steve Keene Art Book. The show includes a full room of Hand Painted Multiples, Album Art Tributes and a debut of his latest series of Tattooed Plywood (engraved) work and other 3D artworks. The show is making its New York public debut.

“Anxiety” is the latest and final single from the upcoming album System Update by Sloan Brothers, the long-time-coming debut from Sloan Simpson and many, many musical friends. The project is a pandemic-inspired product. Simpson has spent many years as a recordist, documenting the live performances in and around Athens and Atlanta, Georgia. When COVID shut venues down, Simpson started to find his own voice as a songwriter. When he was ready to record himself, his friends were there to lend their talents.

The band has released the official video for the album’s first single “Undigested Parts,” which was filmed by Alex Pfannkuche at the Orange Twin Conservation Community stage and features Robert Schneider of The Apples In Stereo as the lone audience member. A Day In Hollywood / A Night in the Ukraine features two one-act musicals that provide a double feature more hilarious than any presented in Hollywood's heyday. The musical opened on Theater Row on February 24th.

BroadwayWorld is saddened to report that James Lipton, executive producer, writer, and host of the Bravo cable television series Inside the Actors Studio, has died at age 93.

Sea Dog Theater follows up their award-winning 2018 season with the World Premiere of Devin Burnam's site-specific play, The Catastrophe Club. The production runs October 18 - November 22 and is directed by longtime Sea Dog collaborator Shaun Bennet Fauntleroy. Opening night is slated for October 18.

Just last night, Mark William made his solo nightclub debut at The Green Room 42 with the world premiere of 'Come Croon With Me.' Putting his own unique, youthful spin on golden age crooner styling, Mark performed a collection of classic tunes from Broadway and The Great American Songbook. With his sophisticated approach, he glided from Jerry Herman to Peter Allen to Henry Mancini with charismatic ease and a spring in his step.

Beginning on November 3, Yep Roc Records will reissue four long out-of-print vinyl albums by legendary indie artists The Apples in stereo. These vinyl reissues include Tone Soul Evolution on November 3, Her Wallpaper Reverie will follow November 24, with The Discovery of a World Inside the Moone, and Velocity of Sound in January and February 2018, respectively.    

Mile Square Theatre, Hudson County's leading professional theatre, presents the popular family musical comedy You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown.
