Michael Thanh Tran

Michael Thanh Tran (he/him) is an actor, director, and producer based in New York City. Off-Broadway: The Winter’s Tale with Raúl Esparza and Lily Rabe at The Public / Shakespeare in the Park. Regional: The Muny, Repertory Theatre of St. Louis, St. Louis Shakespeare Festival, Metro Theatre Company, and Peterborough Players. Film / TV: “Treading”, “Resident Dreams”. He is a recent MFA Acting graduate of New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts Graduate Acting Program, chaired by award-winning director Carl Cofield. He is a receipt of the Tisch Scholarship and has trained with an esteemed roster of faculty, including Brandon J. Dirden, Janet Zarish, and world-renowned guest artists across stage, screen, and movement disciplines. He is a member of the 3rd Theatre Producers of Color cohort, where he was mentored by Sammy Lopez and Miranda Gohh. Michael received an Intimacy Captain Certificate from Ann C. James / Intimacy Coordinators of Color (2022). He is represented by Jonathan Rakower, Jessica Rosenthal, and Lexy Alverez of Framework Entertainment NY + LA. He resides in Brooklyn, NY.
