CPH partners with Suburban Outlaw® Productions to bring humorist and nationally syndicated columnist Erma Bombeck to life on stage this summer in the hit solo play, ERMA BOMBECK: AT WIT'S END by Allison and Margaret Engel. See photos from the production. 

Cleveland Play House will present the Suburban Outlaw production of Erma Bombeck: At Wit's End, a quick-witted, uplifting story recounting the life of America columnist and humorist, Erma Bombeck.

The Cleveland Play House Board of Directors has announced that arts advocate and executive leader Rachel Fink has been appointed as Managing Director. A stalwart supporter of leadership development and cultural policy, Fink comes to Cleveland from Chicago where she served as Executive Director of Lookingglass Theatre Company.

Cleveland Play House will bring its 2022-2023 season to a close with the world premiere production of Ken Ludwig's Moriarty: A New Sherlock Holmes Adventure. Running April 29 through May 21 in the Allen Theatre at Playhouse Square.

freeFall starts off 2023 with a new play by Mat Smart. The Agitators tells of the enduring but tempestuous friendship of Susan B. Anthony and Frederick Douglass.

If you're like me, Geva Theatre's annual production of 'A Christmas Carol' is one of your favorite holiday traditions, and for good reason. It's a consistently top-quality production filled with joy and merriment, and featuring many cast members who have been returning to Geva for this special show for years.

Cleveland Play House will present The Great Leap, a fast-paced, historically rooted sports drama written by Lauren Yee. Directed by Esther Jun, this suspenseful show will run from October 29 to November 20, 2022 in The Outcalt Theatre, located in the heart of Playhouse Square. The second production of CPH's 107th season, The Great Leap features actors Eric Cheung, Amanda Kuo, David Mason, and Reuben Uy.

Coming out of the pandemic, there were a ton of Artistic and Executive Leadership positions open at institutions across the country, and as those roles have been filled, that has opened up other jobs - causing the leadership jobs carousel to keep on spinning.

Cleveland Play House Board of Directors is has announced that regional theatre veteran Mark Cuddy has been appointed to serve as Interim Artistic Director. Industry visionary and arts champion Mark Cuddy comes to Cleveland from Rochester, NY, having served as Artistic Director of Geva Theatre Center.

The remaining performances for Geva Theatre Center's HEARTLAND have been cancelled due to breakthrough Covid cases within the company.

Live theatre is back, and we are so pleased to visit 59E59 Theaters and see Heartland, a production presented by Geva Theatre Center. This outstanding play is written by Gabriel Jason Dean, superbly directed by Pirronne Yousefzadeh and features a top-notch cast.

After a brief COVID-related delay (an all-too-common frustration in the world of theatre these days), Geva Theatre's Fielding Stage is currently presenting 'Constellations', a two-person play about split-second decisions and missed opportunities. This production is particularly meaningful not only because it is Mark Cuddy's final appearance as a director--he retires this summer after a remarkable 27 seasons as Geva's Artistic Director--but because it features his son, Gus Cuddy, and his son's partner Mari Vial-Golden.

59E59 Theaters announced today the full cast and creative team for Heartland, a new play written by Gabriel Jason Dean, in collaboration with Geva Theatre Center. Directed by Pirronne Yousefzadeh, Heartland begins previews on March 18, 2022, in Theater B with opening night set for March 26 for a run through April 10, 2022.

Before there was Drew...The name Barrymore was revered in the world of entertainment long before perky Drew Barrymore acted, produced, became an author, created a cosmetics line, and hosted a television show. This month, Town Players of New Canaan will present William Luce's play, Barrymore, an almost one-man show about Drew's grandfather, John Barrymore, starring veteran stage and screen actor Will Jeffries.

After an extensive national search, Geva Theatre Center has announced that the Board of Directors has voted to appoint Elizabeth Williamson as our new Artistic Director. She will partner with Executive Director Christopher Mannelli as Co-CEO of Geva Theatre Center beginning in June 2022.

Maggie Symington, Chair of Geva’s Board of Trustees, stated that a search committee is currently being formed and an outside firm will be hired this summer to assist in a national search for Cuddy’s successor.
