The third time's the charm for Cara Parisi, who was chosen as the 2022 KC SuperStar! The Bishop Miege High School graduate had auditioned for the past two years but won the big prize this time around-a $10,000 scholarship.

92 High School Students Announced as Nominees for the 2022 Jimmy Awards


The Jimmy Awards have just announced this year’s 92 nominees, coming from 46 high school musical theatre awards competitions across the U.S. The show will feature dynamic ensemble and solo performances and will culminate with the presentation of a Best Performance by an Actress and Best Performance by an Actor award, as well as other honors and scholarships. Winners will be chosen by a panel of industry experts.

2021-2022 Blue Star Awards Winners Honored at Starlight Theatre


Starlight is pleased to share the 2021-22 Blue Star Awards winners, who were just announced in a red-carpet ceremony at Starlight Theatre Thursday, May 26. Twenty-eight winners took home the top prizes in 24 categories, and more than $8,000 in scholarships were awarded to deserving high school students.

Starlight Reveals The 2019-20 Blue Star Awards Nominations


In its first-ever virtual announcement, Starlight revealed the nominations for the 18th annual Blue Star Awards in a live premiere on Facebook Thursday, May 21. Fifty-three of 54 schools were able to stage their 2019-20 Blue Star Awards musicals throughout the past school year, leading to 179 nominations in 23 categories. On Thursday, hundreds of Blue Star Awards students celebrated the much-anticipated nominations at a safe social distance.

A group of young Tik Tok users are coming together to help keep the Broadway Broadway alive. Sammy O'Donnell, Tommy Kaiser, Gabriella Gonzalez, Maddox Bane, Chloe Rodriguez, and James Stryska are hosting a Jackbox Party on Friday, May 29th to help raise money for The Actor's Fund.

MTH Theater presents The Who's TOMMY


The MTH Theater at Crown Center is pleased to announce the cast of THE WHO'S TOMMY, its second MainStage musical of the season. Artistic Director Sarah Crawford will direct an eighteen person ensemble led by Chicago based Tom Vendafreddo in the title role. The remainder of the ensemble includes Leah Miller, Josiah Mullins, Shelby Floyd, Daniel Vershelden, Ryan Hurza, Eric Morris, Maddox Bane, Delilah Pellow, Beth Borders, Blane Brungardt, Bob Linebarger, Randa Meierhenry, Christian Thomas Owen, Abby Peek, Kenny Personett, Tony Pulford, and Luke Walker. Jeremy Watson will lead the band and choreography will be provided by Kenny Personett.

Barn Players' JANE EYRE Begins Performances Today


'Jane Eyre' is a musical drama based on the classic novel by Charlotte Bronte - it premiered on Broadway in 2000 and received five Tony Awards, including 'Best Musical'. The Barn Players' presentation of the musical opens today, Friday, April 15th and continues through Sunday May 1st at the Barn Players Theatre, 6219 Martway in Mission. The play is rated 'PG' and features husband and wife, Alisha and Matt Richardson, in starring roles; Alisha as Jane Eyre and Matt as Rochester.
