Definition Theatre has revealed the finalists of the Amplify Series Three New Play Commissioning Program. 

The Stratford Festival is putting the finishing touches on casting and will soon open its box office for a special holiday pre-sale for tickets to the 13 exciting shows of the 2023 season. Just as the 2022 season comes to a close, work for the 2023 season is getting underway at the Stratford Festival. Creative teams for next year's productions are coming into place and the casting department is busy confirming key roles for the season. Wine in the Wilderness, written by Drama Desk Award winner Alice Childress and directed by Obie Award winner Brandon J. Dirden (director of August Wilson's Radio Golf and King Hedley II) launches Two River Theater's 2022/2023 Season on October 15. 

PlayCo presents the culminating events of their 2021 Residency for Black Women Theatre Makers, a four-month period of process-oriented creative support provided to artists from around the world.

The series' final performance for the first time invites a limited number of in-person audiences to experience the work, at a special surprise location in Bushwick, Brooklyn on June 29 at 7pm.

Alabama Shakespeare Festival invites friends, neighbors and visitors to Montgomery to celebrate and reflect on Juneteenth with us. Walk the stunning grounds to learn about the history of Juneteenth and take in perspectives on freedom from 13 Black artists who've collaborated with ASF over the years. The Juneteenth outdoor installation will be up on ASF's great lawn through July 5.

In honor of World Press Freedom Day,  PlayMakers Repertory Company will release a limited encore run of the world premiere production of “Edges of Time,” written by Jacqueline E. Lawton. Directed by Jules Odendahl-James, “Edges of Time” will be available to stream from May 3 - 9, 2021.

People's Light presents Mud Row, a world premiere play by recent Tony Award nominee Dominique Morisseau (Ain't Too Proud - The Life and Times of the Temptations). Two generations of sisters navigate class, race, love, and family on "Mud Row," an area in the East End of West Chester, Pennsylvania.

Marking the halfway point in its commitment to present all 10 plays of August Wilson's American Century Cycle, Two River Theater's critically-acclaimed production of Wilson's drama King Hedley II, directed by Brandon J. People's Light presents the wildly successful off-Broadway hit Skeleton Crew, a powerful story of love and loyalty by New Play Frontiers writer Dominique Morisseau. This funny, incisive, and "deeply American" (The New York Times) play that "theatergoers won't want to miss" (Huffington Post) centers on a group of Detroit autoworkers as they confront the eroding manufacturing industry. Steve H. Broadnax III, who directed the theatre's critically-acclaimed staging of The Mountaintop in 2016, returns for the production. Skeleton Crew opens on June 13 and has already extended to July 15 on the Steinbright Stage at People's Light.
