And no matter what clues or giveaways you think you might have picked up on throughout the play, you won't be prepared for the emotional wallop that will eventually come. And you may not fully recover from its uncomfortable implications, either.

The Phantom Tollbooth's fantastical adventures and quirky characters will soon leap from the page to the stage, as the beloved children's book opens Childsplay's 41st season of theatre for young audiences. Using puppets, mysteriously fun set design and stellar projections, Milo, Tock the Watchdog, and The Humbug will come to life at Tempe Center for the Arts Sept. 17 through Oct. 15, 2017, Saturdays at 1 p.m. and 4 p.m. and Sundays at 1 p.m.

White's classic Charlotte's Web and for casting an ensemble that renders authenticity and depth to this joyous and heartwarming paean to love, friendship, loyalty, and, yes, mortality. Anthony Runfola has directed a seamless production in which cast, set, lights, sound, and costume conspire to create a world that is evocative of innocence and possibility.
