Marjorie Waldo, President & CEO of Arts Garage, has announced that the innovative and diverse nonprofit organization has rescheduled a book-signing and discussion of The Contemporary Singer's Blueprint: From Amateur to Professional and Beyond written by popular cabaret star Jill Switzer.

As part of its ArtSmart Lecture Series, the Raymond F. Kravis Center for the Performing Arts will present a revealing conversation between author Susan Shapiro Barash and singer Jill Switzer. The telltale topic: A Passion for More: Affairs that Make or Break Us.

Nicolas King and Seth Sikes have their own individual, respective careers and come from what would seem like different orbits. But, actually, it turns out, maybe not so much, because when they come together as THE NEW BELTERS, a special kind of energy force forms and it’s reminiscent of, say, Martin & Lewis (Dean Martin and Jerry Lewis). Arts Garage will host a book-signing and discussion of The Contemporary Singer's Blueprint: From Amateur to Professional and Beyond written by popular cabaret star Jill Switzer. The fun and informative event will be held from 5 to 7 pm on Thursday, November 10, starting with a live musical performance by Jill & Rich Switzer.

Coming this Saturday: Mark Frangione, the Owner/Chef of the popular restaurant The Pelican Café, is hosting a private, invitation-only cocktail party and book-signing celebrating the publication of The Contemporary Singer's Blueprint: From Amateur to Professional and Beyond written by popular cabaret star Jill Switzer.

There used to be an old adage in the publicity business, “any publicity is good publicity”.  However, I’m sure legendary public-relations professional Gary Schweikhart would have much preferred not to be in the headlines himself as an accident victim.  

South Florida and New York audiences know Jill Switzer as the Songstress of the Great American Songbook. Local fans know her as a spokesmodel, one-half of the Legends Radio Morning Lounge with Jill and Rich, and a regular entertainer on Palm Beach County's top stages.

Mark Frangione, the Owner/Chef of the popular restaurant The Pelican Café, announced that his award-winning restaurant, located at 612 US-1 in Lake Park (33403), will be hosting a private, invitation-only cocktail party and book-signing celebrating the publication of The Contemporary Singer’s Blueprint: From Amateur to Professional and Beyond written by popular cabaret star Jill Switzer.

For the past 18 years, Jim Caruso’s Cast Party has been the place to cheer Broadway, jazz and cabaret entertainers serving impromptu performances with the Cast Party Symphony Orchestra (Billy Stritch on piano, Steve Doyle on bass and Daniel Glass on drums).

Bob Merrill is usually spinning albums and interviewing celebrities on Legends Radio but last night he left the studio and “Legends After Dark” to hear the Great American Songbook live and in person at the Pelican Cabaret. 

When Clint Holmes walks out on any stage the space immediately transforms into one of those superstar entertainment venues in Las Vegas, (ground zero for some of the world’s most thrilling performers). That’s how it was in the Razz Room in Boca last night as the man who keeps better time than my Apple Watch and who can’t sing a note or make a gesture that isn’t dazzling and exciting gave a special gift to the Boca audience.

Palm Beach is affectionately nicknamed “paradise” by those who reside and vacation here.  Since it’s early beginnings the town has been a cultural hub inhabited by a community that generously and enthusiastically supports the performing arts.  This was no more evident than at the legendary Colony Hotel last night as Ballet Palm Beach held their “WE BELIEVE” Season of Dance Gala. 

The audience may have been masked but nothing could mask the joy, admiration, excitement, and love in the Wick Theater for Marilyn Maye, arguably the world’s greatest Cabaret artist.  Nicolas King the young super singer, over a half century behind Marilyn shared the stage with her and made this engagement an historic evening of music.

Situated 1,037 miles from Rose Hall at Jazz at Lincoln Center is a Cabaret space that recently was utilized as the backdrop for a filmed segment in this year’s Cabaret Convention.  Last night, Jill & Rich Switzer the celebrated South Florida husband and wife musical team entertained an audience at Table 26 in Palm Beach.  

With Ann’s fingers set loose on the keyboard, her notes, harmonies, rhythms and arrangements, intertwining with her lush voice’s theatrical power and improvisational abilities, the night was full of “moments.”

Jill & Rich brought along a special guest vocalist last night.  Talented young (12th Grade) vocalist Annie Matot.  Annie is Dick Robinson’s Society For The Preservation of The Great American Songbook’s Young Artist.
