BIO

J.L. Williams. Hails from Los Angeles, CA. Mr. Williams trained at his mother's dance studio "The Dance Connection" in Los Angeles and later became a tap teacher there. His professional credits include dancing alongside the late Gregory Hines in 1998 on the CBS sitcom "The Gregory Hines Show". He was apart of the workshop of the Broadway Musical "Bring in Da Noise, Bring in Da Funk". He danced and acted on a European and Asia Tour of "Magic of the Dance" and played Andy Lee in the Japan and National Broadway tour of 42nd Street. Mr. Williams is a recipient of the 2000 Spotlight Award given by the Los Angeles County Music Center in California and a 2000 recipient of the NAACP Act-so Award. He performed in "Sophisticated Ladies" in Los Angeles where he was offered his union status in 2007. He is a proud Actors Equity Association Member. During the past two years JL was an Original Broadway Cast Member in the Tony Award Winning Hit Musical "FELA!" and recently travelled to Lagos, Nigeria Africa in 2011 where he performed in a special performance of FELA! Other theatre credits include the Broadway Laboratory Workshop of "SuperFly" the musical and the role of one of the "Blazers" in New York City Center " Cotton Club Parade" Stay tuned in for J.L.'s New debut Musical Project entitled "The Power of Tap-Soul."

Riverdance- the Anniversary Tour returns to the USA from January to June 2017. J.L. Williams rejoins the ongoing 20th Anniversary tour and will be featured for the first time as the "Baritone Soloist" who sings "Freedom/Heal Their Hearts" as well as reprising his role as one of two African American tap dancers with Tyler Knowlin in the showstopping number "Trading Taps". Williams made his Riverdance debut back in the fall of 2015 in Canada. He also played the northwest of America and a limited engagement in Dublin this past summer.
