Inaugural Pier 17 Rooftop Concert Series Will Feature Amy Schumer, Kings of Leon, & More

The Howard Hughes Corporation (NYSE: HHC), in partnership with exclusive booking partner Live Nation Entertainment, Inc. (NYSE: LYV) announced today the opening lineup for the inaugural Pier 17 Rooftop Concert Series in the Seaport District. As part of 'Seaport Summer,' a seasonal series of experiences and partnerships that will be unveiled throughout the district, the Rooftop Concert Series will introduce residents and tourists alike to the first-of-its-kind iconic venue, which has New York City as its backdropsurrounded by the Brooklyn Bridge, Empire State Building, Statue of Liberty and One World Trade. Star comedian Amy Schumer and Grammy-Award Winners Kings of Leon will be headlining the opening week. The full 2018 performance lineup will be announced on May 14, and will feature a diverse roster of popular talent from various musical genres and entertainment backgrounds.

The revitalized Seaport District will encompass seven buildings on several city blocks totaling over 365,000 square feet filled with cutting edge dining, shopping, entertainment and cultural offerings that will make the district one of New York City's premier destinations. The Seaport District will include the ultimate cinematic experience with iPic Theaters opening an eight-screen movie and dinner theater in the Fulton Market Building and recently announced partnerships with acclaimed chefs Jean-Georges Vongerichten and David Chang - founder of the Momofoku Group - to open two flagship restaurants on the new Pier 17 currently under construction as well as a 40,000 square foot food market in the restored Tin Building featuring Jean Georges that will rival the world's most popular food concepts. Jean-Georges and David Chang are the first to be announced in what will become a range of dining choices by the most notable restaurateurs designed to captivate locals and visitors alike. McNally Jackson Books, a popular New York independent bookseller, will also open in Schermerhorn Row on the cobblestoned streets of the Historic District.

ADEPERO ODUYE will assume the role of Thelma in the critically acclaimed revival of Horton Foote's American masterpiece, THE TRIP TO BOUNTIFUL, on Tuesday, July 16th. Oduye is best known for her acclaimed breakout role in Dee Ree's Sundance film, Pariah, and for her performance opposite Queen Latifah, Alfre Woodard and Phylicia Rashad in the Lifetime Television movie, Steel Magnolias. Condola Rashad, who also co-starred with Oduye in Steel Magnolias, played her final performance as Thelma on Sunday, July 14.
