Returning to Broadway for the first time in over 30 years in this production of The Trip to Bountiful, the legendary Cicely Tyson has won every major theatre award of the season - the Tony Award, the Drama Desk Award and Outer Critics Circle Award. The Trip to Bountiful also stars Academy Award winner Cuba Gooding, Jr, Emmy Award nominee and recording star Vanessa Williams, Adepero Oyude, and Tony Award nominee Tom Wopat.

Terry Teachout of the Wall Street Journal states, "I've never been more deeply moved by a theatrical production of any kind. The Trip to Bountiful is without flaw!" While Ben Brantley of The New York Times states, "Book the next bus to BOUNTIFUL! Cicely Tyson is remarkable." David Cote from Time Out NY calls the show, "Soul-stirring and flawless. The Trip to Bountiful seems as fresh and vibrant as the day Horton Foote finished it." Mark Kennedy from Associate Press heralds, "Broadway has a new heroine. Cicely Tyson is sublime! She is feisty, funny and glowing with inner light." And Roma Torre from NY1 raves that Cicely Tyson's tour-de-force performance is, "one that's sure to be talked about for the next 60 years!"

The inspiring American classic, The Trip to Bountiful, tells the story of Carrie Watts (Cicely Tyson), who is trapped in a cramped Houston apartment with her soft-spoken son (Cuba Gooding Jr) and out-spoken daughter-in-law (Vanessa Williams), dreaming of a return to her home in the small Gulf Coast town of Bountiful, where she grew up and raised her family. Fearing that she's an imposition and chafing under her daughter-in-law's watchful eye, she steals away with her latest pension check and heads home in the journey of a lifetime. The result is an unforgettable play about the idea of home and its power to sustain us.

THE TRIP TO BOUNTIFUL also features Devon Abner, Curtis Billings, Pat Bowie, Leon Addison Brown, Arthur French, Susan Heyward, Bill Kux, Linda Powell, and Charles Turner.
