BIO

Cynthia Silver is an actress, teacher, writer, director, solo performer, "mompreneur" and CA girl gone NYer. She teaches at the Atlantic Theater Company Acting School and is an ensemble member of Partial Comfort Productions. Her one woman show, BRIDEZILLA STRIKES BACK!, earned her much critical acclaim ("...an American Bridget Jones" NYTimes) and FringeNYC's Overall Excellence Award for Outstanding Solo Show. Other theatre credits include Paper Cranes (Packawallop); Carnival Round the Central Figure (IRT); KIDSTUFF and Open House (Partial Comfort); The Adding Machine, Scenes from the New World, Jitterbugging: Scenes of Sex in a New Society, The Loop and The House of Yes (Mobius Group Productions); All Things Considered (Atlantic Theater Company). Small & big screen credits include "CSI: NY", "L&O: Criminal Intent", The Green, Colin Fitz Lives! and the upcoming Light Years. Cynthia resides in New York City with her husband, Matt, a production stage manager, and their daughter, Sadie. New Ohio Theatre Presents The 4th Annual NY Indie Theatre Film Festival

New Ohio Theatre's annual New York Indie Theatre Film Festival (NYITFF) a?" a unique presentation of film works by New York theatre makers a?" returns in 2020 with a stellar lineup, including a special screening of a feature directed by downtown legend Charles Busch, with a talkback with the artist, and a reading of a new screenplay written and directed by playwright, filmmaker, and author Brooke Berman (Hunting and Gathering). The festival events, including screenings, panel discussions, and social gatherings, will be held at New Ohio Theatre (154 Christopher Street) in NYC's West Village from February 6 to 9, 2020. For the fifth year, THROUGH HER LENS: The Tribeca CHANEL Women's Filmmaker Program will create new opportunities for women filmmakers. Tribeca and CHANEL, in collaboration with Pulse Films and Tribeca Film Institute (TFI), founded THROUGH HER LENS in 2015 to provide industry support, artistic development, and funding to emerging U.S.-based female writers and directors. Participants will gather in New York City for the program's 5th edition, which will run November 4-6, 2019.
