The West Coast Premiere of Broken Story by Cyndy A. Marion, directed by Tamara Rappart, opened on Saturday, November 5th at The Sherry Theater. A serial killer's backstory always seems to fascinate people more so than that of their prey. But what is it about these vicious murderers that inspires works of art being written about them? That question popped into my head when I heard about the West Coast premiere of Cyndy A. Marion's play Broken Story, which was inspired by the murder of writer Susan Berman and her close relationship with serial killer Robert Durst. I knew I wanted to find out what inspired Cyndy to create the play and how she conducted her research.

Performances will be on Friday, November 8 at 8pm, Saturday, November 9 at 8pm, Sunday, November 10 at 3pm, Tuesday, November 12 at 8pm, Wednesday, November 13 at 8pm, Thursday, November 14 at 8pm, Friday, November 15 at 8pm, Saturday, November 16 at 2pm, and Saturday, November 16 at 8pm.

LURED, a brutal and honest depiction of gay persecution in Russia, written by Frank J. Avella, and co-directed by Carlotta Brentan, has announced three post-show events featuring respected human rights advocates and theatrical critics with in the LGBTQ community.

Following its New York run, the play will head to Europe where it was accepted into the Onstage! American Theater Festival in Rome, Italy, with performances there on January 25th & 26th 2019. LURED will be co-directed by Mr. Avella and Carlotta Brentan.

Avella, explores the persecution of gays in Russia and will have a World Premiere 3-week run at Theater for the New City (Crystal Field, Artistic Director) November 8-25, 2018. In addition, the play was accepted into the Onstage! American Theater Festival in Rome, Italy, with performances January 25 & 26, 2019. Lured will be co-directed by Mr. Avella and Carlotta Brentan. The U.S. production is a TNC/Impetus Ensemble co-production.

In February, the White Horse Theater Company, which has produced several rarely seen Williams plays such as A Perfect Analysis Given by a Parrot, In the Bar of a Tokyo Hotel and I Can't Imagine Tomorrow, will present a unique & immersive production of the Tennessee Williams dark comedy A Cavalier for Milady at the historic Players Club at Gramercy Park (16 Gramercy Park South) with performances on February 7 at 8pm, February 8 at 8pm and February 9 at 7pm and 9:30pm. The 2/7 show will be followed by a WHTC 15th Anniversary Celebration with a live jazz performance and the 2/8 show will be followed by a moderated talk-back with renowned Tennessee Williams scholar Dr. Annette J. Saddik.

Carlotta Brentan, who has been attached to 'Vatican Falls' since 2012, has been officially cast in the World Premiere presentation. The show will be the inaugural production for the newly founded Andrea Dantas New York Theater Company.

Erik Ehn's Quiet House directed by Glory Kadigan premieres tonight, June 23, at the 2017 Planet Connections Theatre Festivity (The Festivity runs June 12 - July 9 at The Clemente, 107 Suffolk Street, NYC). The presentation will be tonight, June 23rd, at 7:00 p.m.
