Andrea is a graduate of the Shakespeare Theatre Company's MFA program in Classical Acting. She is also a playwright, lyricist, and bookwriter. A member of the Writers Guild of America, East, and a 2008 Dramatists Guild Fellow, Andrea is a recipient of a Library of Congress Fellowship award in Ethnographic Research for the creation of her musical, Soon of a Mornin', inspired by the material she discovered in the LOC Folklife Collections. Soon of a Mornin' was a 2005 NYMF invited show, and was also featured as part of the Kennedy Center's Page to the Stage Festival. Andrea's first musical, Lady be Good, was presented in Workshop at Lincoln Center Theatre in 1999. In 2010, her ten-minute play, Houston, was featured at EST.

Andrea teaches acting and singing technique privately and in workshops in and around NYC, and is currently working on her illustrated memoir, How NOT to Fall Off a Broadway Stage. She was most recently featured in the Goodspeed Opera House production of Showboat in the role of Queenie, and is developing her own show for 2013.

The musical is based on former Lumineers member Neyla Pekarek's first solo album, Rattlesnake, which features songs inspired by the life of Colorado's own 'Rattlesnake Kate' Slaughterback. Nearly 100 years ago, Kate killed around 140 rattlesnakes mostly using a wooden sign she found after her rifle ran out of ammunition, not only saving herself but also her 3-year-old son and their horse, Brownie.
