Andrea is a graduate of the Shakespeare Theatre Company's MFA program in Classical Acting. She is also a playwright, lyricist, and bookwriter. She is a former Dramatists Guild Fellow, a member of the BMI Musical Theater Songwriters Workshop, and a recipient of a Library of Congress Fellowship award in Ethnographic Research. Her musical, Soon of a Mornin', was a 2005 NYMF invited show, and was also featured as part of the Kennedy Center's Page to the Stage Festival. Andrea's first musical, Lady be Good, was presented in Workshop at Lincoln Center Theatre in 1999. Her ten-minute play, Houston, was featured recently in 2023 The Fire This Time Theatre Festival
Andrea is currently writing a memoir.
