Celebrate Meowloween with Catbaret: NYC’s Cat-Themed Variety Show!

This Halloween, New Yorkers can unleash their inner party animal at Catbaret’s Meowloween, a one-night-only cat-themed variety show at Caveat on Thursday, October 31 at 9:30pm.

Hosted by Gemma Smith, Catbaret blends comedy, music, and burlesque (purr-lesque) with a festive Halloween twist. The evening features free cat ears for all attendees, an audience costume contest, and raffle prizes from cat-loving partners including Cat Lady Box, Travel Cat, Cats About Town Walking Tour and more.

This year’s lineup includes:

• The Randy Andys – a post-modern Broadway vocal trio putting a feline twist on classic pop hits

• Fem Appeal – a burlesque fan favorite known for delightfully weird performances

• Neysa Lozano – adding a mystical twist with a live tarot performance piece

• Joy Vicious – the spellcasting “China Doll of Burlesque” as a slinky Cheshire Cat

• James Koroni – cat-loving comedian and creator of Keppy’s Kingdom at the PIT

• Kinsey Three – Brooklyn drag/burlesque artist and producer of That’s Camp Burlesque, serving up a campy Cats-inspired act

Stage kittens Jenny Purrson (Jenny Pierson, founding executive director of the Cat Museum of NYC) and Amanda B. (host/producer of the 6 Degrees of Cats podcast) will keep the show running smoothly.

Over the past seven years, Catbaret has produced more than 20 shows at Caveat and beyond, with recent highlights including Galentine’s Day Paw-ty and Just Kitten Around.

“Meowloween is our most popular show of the year, celebrating the natural pairing of Halloween and cats,” says host Gemma Smith. “The audience costume contest is always a highlight — folks really go all out, and everyone’s encouraged to come dressed up.”

Catbaret is sponsored by Weruva, who are donating $500 of premium cat food to Rescue NYC. The inclusive event welcomes all 21+ humans (no actual cats will be in attendance).
