Inspired by the life of Billy Tipton, She Was a Great Dad tells the tale, of a transgender female to male musician in the era when female musicians had little opportunities. Using Susan Jeremy’s classical humor the piece seeks to reveal all the unspoken layers of a complex individual who was born way before living freely was a possibility.
