In honor of fiction writer Mieko Kawakami’s visit to NYC, Selected Shorts partners with Japan Society for an evening featuring Kawakami’s groundbreaking work alongside that of her extraordinary, eclectic peers, including Han Kang, Banana Yoshimoto, and more. Performed live by acclaimed readers including Ophira Eisenberg (Ask Me Another), Midori Francis (The Sex Lives of College Girls), Sonia Manzano (Sesame Street), and Josh Radnor (Hunters), these stories by contemporary East Asian women writers will surprise, delight, and linger in the mind long after the show is over.
Selected Shorts: Our greatest actors transport us through the magic of fiction, one short story at a time, and connect us to the world with a rich diversity of voices from literature, film, theater, and comedy.
