Inhibited Bites is a revelatory, darkly-comedic performance built from a collection of more than 1,000 index cards containing artist Neil Goldberg’s thoughts, observations, and reflections. For example: “Watching people enter a party, you can really see what they were like as kids.” The cards, projected behind the artist, offer striking visual context for a performance that is alternately trenchant, hysterical, bleak, and exuberant. At Dixon Place, Goldberg will use the cards as the basis for both an improvised monologue as well as an expansive interview with willing audience members and special guests, including choreographer Miguel Gutierrez.
