Bridgetower Project celebrates the extraordinary story of George Bridgetower, the Afro-European violin virtuoso for whom Beethoven originally composed his Violin Sonata No. 9 before later dedicating it to Rodolphe Kreutzer. Violinist Ilya Kaler—the only musician to win gold medals at the Tchaikovsky, Sibelius, and Paganini Competitions—is joined by Steinway Artist Rasa Vitkauskaite and an exceptional ensemble of guest artists, including multiple Grammy Award winner Paquito D'Rivera. The program features works by Beethoven and Florence Price, alongside the world premiere of D'Rivera's Bridgetower Reimagined, a new chamber work inspired by Bridgetower's only surviving composition.
