CAT Theatre To Host 2017 Red Eye 10s International Play Festival

CAT Theatre is once again the East Coast Host to the Red Eye 10s International Play Festival. The festival takes place on September 30, 2017, and is a 24-Hour, 10-Minute Play festival featuring six original plays in multiple theaters around the world ON THE SAME DAY! Red Eye hosts produce the six plays and share that process with everyone else involved through social media and our redeye10s.com website. It's a worldwide collaboration and celebration of new work. The festival culminates in an exciting evening of public performances on September 30, 2017.
This year, Producer H Lynn Smith is looking for a wide variety of team members to participate in this 24 hour event at CAT Theatre. This is a volunteer event.
Directors: Six Directors will be selected on a first come first selected process and will draw their script titles randomly from a hat. Deadline for directors is August 16, 2017. Those directors selected will be provided the scripts one week in advance and are strongly encouraged to locate costume pieces and props for their plays during that time. CAT will provide some generic props and costumes.
Actors: 18-36 actors are needed. Actors are accepted on a first come basis and will be expected to learn their lines. Actors' names will be placed into a hat and assigned roles by the process of random drawing by directors on Friday, September 29 at 7:00 p.m. Deadline for actors is September 10.
Crew: Six crew members are needed to perform set up of the plays and theater, keep track of people and help with food for everyone including a reception after the event. Other volunteer needs include a Box Office Manager and two ushers; lights and sound operators; and a stage manager.
Social Media Team: We are looking for seven people to post to Face Book, Twitter and Instagram and internal communication for their team.
