The White Plains Performing’s Arts Center, a professional, non profit, Regional Theatre is seeking choral singers for the
NY Regional Premiere of Disney’s The Hunchback of Notre Dame.
The show features Music & Lyrics by Alan Menken (Newsies, Aladdin) and Stephen Schwartz (Wicked, Pippin) and features a 32-person choir that is on stage (book in hand, no memorization required) for the duration of the show. These are non-acting, non-dancing roles FOR SINGERS.

Actor auditions will be held at a later date. Those interested in the choir that are also interested in an “actor role” can do both but they must re audition for the “actor” role when those dates are posted. If you are cast as an acting role at a later date and are already in the choir we can simply move you out of the choir into the company.

*Please note we do not perform on ANY holidays. Performances range from 3 to 4 shows per week and play mainly weekends.
REHEARSALS:
Rehearsal will be a select weekday evening and/or a weekend day beginning in October. The schedule will be flexible based on people’s availability and solidified upon casting. We may also shorten the rehearsal process and take some time off depeding on the skill of the choir. Please make sure you bring any and all conflicts to the audition.
SEEKING:
8 sopranos (A3-D6),
8 mezzo-sopranos (F#3-G5),
8 tenors (A2-B4),
4 baritones (G#2-A4),
4 basses (F#2-G4).
10 additional singers as alternates to fill select parts should conflicts be an issue to ensure we always have 32 singers per show.
Participants should be experienced choristers/singers, able to read/understand demanding music well with knowledge and proper pronunciation of choral Latin.
We would ideally like to find people who can do all the performances but will accept some conflicts if notified before the production begins rehearsals. These are volunteer positions just as the original and other productions of the show have been done, but we do offer EMC points for those interested. These positions are ideal for those looking for an exceptional credit of a professional regional premiere, working with Broadway professionals and getting to sing this epic score!

Saturday, September 16 from 11am-4pm
Tuesday, September 19 from 7-10pm
At NOLA Studios (Studio F) in NYC
Thursday September 28 from 7pm-10pm

DO NOT LEAVE A MESSAGE. Include name, phone #, approximate time you’d like to audition.
Video Submissions: Please note we will accept video submissions from singers who can not attend the audition dates. Those who attend in person will be given priority. Videos must have you singing with accompaniment ideally from the show.
What to Prepare:
Please prepare one of the sections of the pieces listed on the website via this link: http://wppac.com/hunchback-choir-auditions/
OR a piece that shows off range from or in the style of the score. If your song choice does not include these ranges, you will be vocalized to the extreme ends of the required range.
Must bring sheet music in the correct key if not singing one of these selections. A piano accompanist will be provided but will not transpose. Charts are NOT acceptable, NO unaccompanied singing.
