PLAY IT AGAIN, SAM - CPCC Theatre Non Equity Auditions
PLAY IT AGAIN, SAM - CPCC Theatre
CPCC Theatre will hold auditions for Play It Again, Sam on Monday, February 13th and Tuesday February 14th from 7:00pm to 9:00pm in the Pease Auditorium on the CPCC Central Campus. Play It Again, Sam will be directed by Charles LaBorde.
The play requires a cast of 6- 3 men and 3 women. See below for details.
Allan Felix--a middle-aged slight, bespectacled man who looks as if he just stepped out of a Jules Pfeiffer cartoon--a nervous, shy, insecure film buff and hypochondriac.
Bogey--the ghost of the movie icon--more important that he sound like Bogart than look like him--so try out your best,"Here's lookin' at you, kid" and come on out for this once-in-a-lifetime role.
Dick Christie--30's or 40's--the straight-laced best friend; a stereotypical executive type more concerned about business than his lovely and devoted wife.
Nancy--Allan's ex-wife--as seen in the memory of the jilted husband--sometimes a prize, sometimes a monster, depending on the ex-husband's mood at the time.
Linda Christie--the 30-something wife of Allan's best friend--a lovely woman who has many of the same mental hang-ups and allergies as our hero.
Sharon, Sharon Lake, Gina, Vanessa, Go-Go Girl, Intellectual Girl, Barbara--a succession of lovely but mostly unsuccessful dates for Allan. These female roles may be played by seven different women in cameos or by a single very versatile female who can transform herself physically and vocally.
Play It Again, Sam will begin rehearsal in late February. Performances are April 13 – 22.
No preparation necessary. Auditions will consist of readings from the script. You do not have to be a current CPCC student to participate. College credit is available to those who qualify.
We are also looking for people interested in working backstage, set crew, props, etc.
