BREATHE, written by Cynthia Grace Robinson, is part of Vanguard Theater's 2026 Illuminating New Voices Festival, a celebration of new work and emerging playwrights. The festival runs over two weekends, May 2-3 and May 8-9, featuring eight original works in development. Like the other works in the festival, BREATHE explores themes of autonomy, identity, and resistance—examining what happens when who we are becomes something outside of our control and the ways we attempt to reclaim ourselves.
