RED: A New Musical, written by Lawrence Dandridge, is part of Vanguard Theater's 2026 Illuminating New Voices Festival, running May 2-3 and May 8-9 in Montclair, NJ. The festival presents eight original works in development across four nights, created by emerging playwrights and multidisciplinary artists. This year's lineup explores themes of autonomy, identity, and resistance, examining what happens when who we are becomes something outside of our control and the ways we attempt to reclaim ourselves.
