Sister Act is a musical comedy based on the 1992 film, featuring music by Tony and Oscar winner Alan Menken, with lyrics by Glenn Slater and a book by Cheri Steinkellner and Bill Steinkellner. When disco diva Deloris Van Cartier witnesses a crime, she is hidden away in a convent where she transforms a struggling choir into a powerhouse ensemble. Filled with gospel music and high-energy dancing, the production was nominated for five Tony Awards, including Best Musical. Sister Act runs July 9–25, 2027 at Duluth Playhouse at the NorShor Theatre.
