American Players Theatre Season Will Run 6/8-10/20; HAMLET and More in Lineup

American Players Theatre (APT) announces its 2013 Season, which runs June 8 to October 20, 2013, and includes the first indoor Shakespeare production of the company's history: an intimate adaptation of Antony and Cleopatra by heralded off-Broadway actor and playwright James DeVita and director Kate Buckley, presented in the 200-seat Touchstone Theatre. DeVita, one of APT's Core Company members, recently completed a critically acclaimed run of his solo show In Acting Shakespeare at the Pearl Theater in New York.
Milwaukee Repertory Theater's 2013/14 Season Announced

Artistic Director Mark Clements announced Milwaukee Repertory Theater's 2013/14 Season today. The season will present an epic slate of personalities and productions on the Quadracci Powerhouse stage - the monumental, moving and Tony Award-winning musical Ragtime will give audiences a glimpse at the early 20th century life of three distinct groups of people, while the side-splitting comedy, Noises Off, peeks behind the curtain at a group of struggling actors. The tumultuous final days of Judy Garland will unfold in End of the Rainbow, a single virtuoso artist will lead a blazing, contemporary retelling of a Homer classic in An Iliad, and the dynamic birth of Superman will be explored with The History of Invulnerability, forever changing the way we look at superheroes.

This quick-witted British comedy is written by Illinois playwright Margaret Raether, who brought us our successful 2010 production of JEEVES INTERVENES. Reprising their roles from JEEVES INTERVENES are Matt Daniels as Jeeves and director Tami Workentin. JEEVES IN BLOOM performs in the Broadway Theatre Center's Cabot Theatre in Milwaukee's Historic Third Ward.

Suzan Fete and Jennifer Rupp will be Co-Directing this reading that will feature women veterans, Milwaukee VA staff and friends. One day only: April 26, 2013, at the Milwaukee VA Medical Center, 5000 W. National Ave., Recreation Hall, room 3435. The readings are at 2 pm and 6:30 pm, and are free and open to the public. Milwaukee Youth Symphony Orchestra (MYSO) ihas announced it has surpassed its goal of $2 million for Fran's Fund, a scholarship fund established to provide life-changing opportunities in music for underserved youth throughout southeastern Wisconsin, ensuring that thousands of young musicians, regardless of financial need, can benefit from the intensive music experiences offered by MYSO. Thanks to widespread community support for this important effort, the campaign concluded at the end of 2012, and has received more than $2,096,000 in gifts and pledges.

From the iconic songbook of Johnny Cash comes this unique musical about love and faith, struggle and success, rowdiness and redemption, and home and family. More than two dozen classic hits - including 'I Walk the Line,' 'A Boy Named Sue,' 'Folsom Prison Blues,' and the title tune - performed by a multi-talented cast, paint a musical portrait of The Man in Black that promises to be a foot-stompin', crowd-pleasin' salute to a uniquely American legend! Richard Maltby, Jr. created the piece and will also direct The Rep's production. It was originally conceived by William Meade with orchestrations by Steven Bishop and Jeff Lisenby. Malty is re-conceiving his Johnny Cash tribute specifically for a five-member ensemble for The Rep's Stackner Cabaret. The cast features Trenna Barnes, Eddie Clendening, Jason Edwards, David Miles Keenan and Mark W. Winchester, who are all making their Rep debuts. Ring of Fire: The Music of Johnny Cash runs in the Stackner Cabaret from tonight, March 1 - May 5, and opens Sunday, March 3.
