GableStage presents the Florida Premiere of Prayer for the French Republic, the Drama Desk Award–winning play by celebrated playwright Joshua Harmon (Bad Jews, Admissions). Twice extended on Broadway, this sweeping and darkly funny family drama spans five generations of the Solomon Benhamou family as they confront questions of identity, safety, and belonging in the country they call home. When their teenage son is attacked for wearing a yarmulke, past and present collide in a powerful exploration of Jewish history, resilience, and what it means to remain — or leave — in uncertain times. Directed by Producing Artistic Director Bari Newport, the production features the largest cast in GableStage history.
