Shear Madness at Florida Studio Theatre has been held over through April 3, due to popular demand. The hit show opened on Friday, February 25, and was originally slated for a two-week run. Shear Madness returns for a second go-around at FST after a nine-week sold-out run last season. Shear Madness is an interactive murder mystery where the audience gets to solve the crime. Join your favorite salon owner Tony, his gum-chewing assistant, Barbara, and the rest of the gang as they piece together the crime scene after a murder happens upstairs.

The behind-the-scenes negotiations take place at the Vatican and involve an Iranian mullah, an Israeli arms dealer, an American ambassador and a Monk. The personal issues of the characters cannot help but color their negotiations and it is a stirring view of the dark world of diplomacy.

New Theatre's (THE NEW) 25th Anniversary continues with acclaimed stage and film actress Angelica Torn starring as Marie Curie in the World Premiere of The Radiant by Tony-nominated playwright Shirley Lauro, running March 25 - April 17, 2011. The Radiant tells the story of the tempestuous, dramatic life of Marie Curie, one of the world's first recognized woman scientists, whose discovery and isolation of radium earned her two Nobel Prizes and revolutionized science forever, as she ushered in 'The Atomic Age' and the first cure for cancer. 2011 marks the 100th Anniversary of Marie Curie's second Nobel Prize win and befittingly, Poland and France have named 2011 'Marie Curie Year' and The United Nations designated it 'The International Year of Chemistry.'

Florida Stage Announces Winners 11th Annual Young Playwrights Festival

For the eleventh year in a row, Florida Stage is presenting its Annual Young Playwrights Festival, a celebration of the playwriting skills of school children from throughout Palm Beach County. This year, six winning plays representing the work of ten talented young people have been chosen from more than two hundred submissions. Winners will have their work presented as a staged reading by professional actors in the Festival's culminating public performance at Florida Stage. The Young Playwrights Festival performance will be held at Florida Stage on Monday, March 28, beginning at 7:00 PM. Admission is free. The event is open to the public.
