Gordon Lightfoot Plays Melbourne's King Center, 3/22
Grammy-nominated singer/songwriter Gordon Lightfoot will perform at the Maxwell C. King Center of Brevard Community College in Melbourne, Florida, on March 22. This one-night-only event is presented by AEG Live.
Regarded as Canada's greatest songwriter, Gordon Lightfoot has achieved international success in folk, folk rock and country music and has been credited for helping define the folk-pop sound of the 1960's and 70's. Since emerging from the Toronto folk club scene in the early 60's, Lightfoot has recorded 20 albums, received five Grammy nominations and has won 17 Juno Awards in his native Canada. He has also been inducted into The Canadian Songwriters Hall of Fame. Throughout the course of his long career he has written such hits as If You Could Read My Mind, Early Morning Rain, Carefree Highway and Rainy Day People. Some of his albums have achieved gold and multi-platinum status internationally and his songs have been recorded by some of the world's most renowned recording artists, including Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash and Bob Dylan. Mr. Lightfoot will perform one night only on March 22 at 8pm. Tickets begin at $30 (plus applicable handling fees) and will go on sale at noon on Friday, January 21.
