Benise's The Spanish Guitar has been hailed as 'The Latin Riverdance!' A former street musician now a celebrated International guitarist, Benise (Buh-ness-say) and his Emmy award-winning Nights of Fire cast, perform The World Music & Dance Spectacular The Spanish Guitar at the Raymond F. Kravis Center for the Performing Arts on Sunday, November 6 at 7 p.m. in the Alexander W. Dreyfoos, Jr. Concert Hall.

The Main Street Players is pleased to announce its upcoming production of Extremities by William Mastrosimone. This riveting, thought-provoking drama about a woman, Marjorie, who escapes her would-be rapist and then metes out her own justice has been intriguing and gripping audiences for over twenty years, all the time demanding that we examine our own attitudes towards crime and the justice system. As Marjorie's justice becomes more and more like revenge, the arrival of her two roommates forces all four people - rapist, victim, and bystanders - to examine where we draw the line between intent and action, and between what is justifiable and what is not. The play contains adult content and strong language, and parents are cautioned.

The RiverPark Center event will feature a retrospective on Peter Falk, who played Columbo on television and died June 23. William Link, co-creator of the television series 'Columbo,' has written several Columbo short stories. Four will be selected and presented as Live Broadcast Theatre productions (formerly called Live Radio Theatre and presented in the style of old-fashioned radio shows).

The Island Players is a new community theatre group founded by a trio of longtime theatre aficionados and Marco Islanders Pat Berry (founder of the Marco Island Film Festival and SoapFest), Jean Ann Rowles and Pattie Ziesig (founder of Pattie's Playhouse). All three women bring extensive stage and directing experience as well as strong affiliations with local community organizations. According to Ms. Berry, The Island Players was created to provide an outlet for fun, creative community involvement while seeking to produce quality entertainment not currently served by the professional theatre groups.

Caldwell Theatre Company announced a summer season that embraces diversity and theatricality. Embarking on the successful formula of summers past, they will open the summer season with a World Premiere by South Florida playwright Michael McKeever, and his comedic take on the famous Collyer Brothers of Harlem, titled Stuff. The comedy will be followed by a classically executed drama, Six Years, by the up and coming writer Sharr White.
