Pompano Beach Cultural Center Presents SUPER NATURAL HUMANOIDS

The Pompano Beach Cultural Center is proud to present Super Natural Humanoids, an interactive installation of larger-than-life marionettes, which resemble older adults. Using levers and pulleys, guests will 'activate' these handcrafted works of art, encouraging a dialogue about how society can create better connections with our aging population. Created by artists Aurora Molina and Julian Pardo, this exhibition will be on view in the Pompano Beach Cultural Center Art Gallery from July 12, 2019 through October 4, 2019, with an opening reception July 12 from 7-9 pm. Maplewood Playhouse is thrilled to be returning to The Kelsey Theater with their Young Arts Conservatory summer show Disney's Frozen, Jr. Based on the 2018 Broadway musical, Frozen, Jr., brings Elsa, Anna, and the magical land of Arendelle to life, onstage. The show features all of the memorable songs from the animated film, with music and lyrics by Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez, plus five new songs written for the Broadway production. Music direction by Daland Jones of West Palm Beach, and choreography by Abby Scalici of Jupiter, Frozen, Jr. will be performed on August 4th at the Kelsey Theater.

Henry Willson was a homely, openly gay, larger than life agent who groomed him and created a star. Hollywood dubbed them "beauty and the beast" but with Rock's looks and Henry's ruthless ambition, they reached the pinnacle of success. Then Henry fell in love with his creation and a life of lies led to final credits neither would have written. 
Carnegie Hall's NYO2 Returns To Miami Beach For Summer Residency

This July, following 11 days of intensive training in New York, the 80 members of NYO2-including extraordinary teen instrumentalists from across the United States-return to Miami Beach for their second annual summer residency with the New World Symphony (NWS), culminating in a performance at the New World Center on Saturday, July 27 at 8:30 p.m. led by conductor Carlos Miguel Prieto and featuring pianist Gabriela Montero. Throughout the Miami residency, which runs from July 22-29, NYO2 players will work with NWS Fellows, thanks to a continued partnership between Carnegie Hall and the New World Symphony. NYO2 first traveled to Miami Beach in summer 2018, which included a sold-out concert at the New World Center.
