Colony Theatre Summer Performance Camp Set

By: Mar. 23, 2015

Global Spectrum, venue managers for the Colony Theatre on Lincoln Road in Miami Beach have announced they will host their second annual Colony Theatre Performance Camp, Where Stars Begin. The camp will run for four complete weeks beginning on July 13th and going through August 7th of 2015 and of course takes place at the Colony Theatre itself.

The program is geared towards children ages 6 through 16 and all levels are welcome. The cost of the camp is $1,200 ($840 before April 10th) and includes all four weeks of sessions, as well as all activity and registration fees, all in-house activities, a daily snack, and two tickets to the camp's Finale Showcase. Discounts are available for City of Miami Beach Employees and all active and veteran Armed Services members.

Children will gain an appreciation for culture and creativity as well as build the confidence and self esteem it takes to perform in front of an audience.

Participants will learn from our highly-trained and experienced performance instructors the basic skills of acting, dancing, singing, public presentation, scenic design, and costuming. This year's program will place a special concentration on dance performance and techniques.

The camp will conclude with an entertaining and exciting Final Showcase put on by the camp participants, who will have a chance to debut what they have learned over the four weeks, live on the Colony Theatre's world-class stage.

To register for the Colony Theatre Performance Camp, please contact Julie Arias at 305-674-1040 ext. 0 or by email at JArias@miamibeachfl.gov.
