Hackmatack Playhouse Children’s Theatre Camp Present THE WORLD'S A STAGE, 8/6-14

Hackmatack Playhouse Children's Theatre Camp presents an original show called THE WORLD'S A STAGE, using American music from the Tin Pan Alley era (Gershwin, Foster, Joplin, Berlin), on August 6th, 7th, 13th, and 14th at 10AM. The World's a Stage tickets are $6 for students and $10 for adults. Hackmatack Playhouse is on Route 9 in Berwick, Maine. The Ogunquit Playhouse is the first fully staged Regional theatre in the nation to produce an all new production of Sunset Boulevard starring Stefanie Powers as Norma Desmond, July 28 through August 14, complete with the Tony Nominated costumes by the Academy Award winning designer, Anthony Powell and an all new set designed exclusively for the Ogunquit stage by Todd Ivins. This musical is based on the film noir classic by Billy Wilder that starred Gloria Swanson and William Holden. It is the winner of seven Tony Awards including Best Musical and features some of Andrew Lloyd Webber's loveliest melodies including, 'With One Look' and 'As If We Never Said Goodbye.'

Carousel is bustin' out all over in Berwick, Maine and Hackmatack Playhouse would like to invite you to join them this summer in celebrating this classic masterpiece by Rodgers and Hammerstein. Set in a Maine coastal village, the handsome, carnival barker, Billy Bigelow, charms his way into the heart of local millworker, Julie Jordan. Billy soon finds himself married to Julie and unemployed with a baby on the way. In an attempt to provide a decent life for his family, Billy is persuaded by a friend to be an accomplice in a robbery. He is caught red-handed and takes his own life avoiding a life behind bars. Guided by heavenly friends, Billy returns to earth for one day where he finally meets his fifteen year old daughter. Humbled by this encounter, Billy is able to instill love and hope to his family giving them peace in their lives.

The Grammy-nominated a cappella quintet Toxic Audio returns to Maine State Music Theatre to perform their repertoire of new sounds and old favorites. The fantastic phonic five will take the Pickard Theater stage on the campus of Bowdoin College on Monday, July 26 at 7:30pm. Tickets range from $17-$30 and can be purchased by calling the Box Office at 207-725-8769 or by visiting the MSMT website at www.msmt.org.
