Master Harold… and the Boys at Geffen Playhouse

Dates: 4/8/2026 - 5/10/2026

📍 Theatre:
Geffen Playhouse

The production of Athol Fugard’s Master Harold… and the Boys takes place in a 1950s South African tea shop, where the dynamics between a white teenager, Hally, and two Black waiters, Sam and Willie, unfold against a backdrop of race and power. As Hally reminisces about his childhood with the men who provided him warmth and laughter, a rainy afternoon leads to painful truths and the potential unraveling of their relationships. The drama confronts themes of betrayal and the fragility of human bonds in an oppressive societal context.
