The Monsters, written by Ngozi Anyanwu and directed by Awoye Timpo, makes its Los Angeles premiere at the Audrey Skirball Kenis Theater. The story revolves around Big, a seasoned MMA fighter nearing the end of his career, who must confront years of resentment and unresolved pain as he reluctantly agrees to coach his younger sister, Lil. This poignant sibling love story reveals the complexities of family relationships, where the bonds of affection can both protect and wound. Featuring raw honesty and lyrical intensity, the play examines how family can serve as both sanctuary and battlefield.
