Litter, written and directed by Bridget Flanery, is part of the 2026 SheLA Summer Theater Festival, presented by SheNYC Arts at Rogue Machine Theatre in West Hollywood. The play follows the aftermath of a backpack thrown from an Uber on a Des Moines highway, as Detectives Merritt and Van Roekel track down and interrogate the 15-year-old passenger responsible for the "littering" — and the gruesome contents found inside. SheLA is an annual festival showcasing the works of West Coast-based women, trans, and non-binary playwrights, selected through a blind submission process from over 350 entries.
