INTO THE WOODS at Wisteria Theater

Wisteria Theater, recently voted Best Intimate Theater in Los Angeles, is thrilled to present a magical new production of Stephen Sondheim and James Lapine’s Into the Woods, opening August 29 and running through September 28, 2025.

Told through the nostalgic, imaginative lens of childhood, this reimagined Into the Woods invites audiences to rediscover beloved fairytale characters as they step out of bedtime stories and into an unforgettable journey of wishes, consequences, and transformation. With whimsical design, immersive storytelling, and a cast full of Los Angeles favorites, this production promises a heartfelt and fantastical experience for theatergoers of all ages.

Our concept explores what happens when the world of the woods is built out of what’s already in a child’s bedroom — storybooks, shadows, even the monsters under the bed. It’s funny, it’s scary, and it’s deeply human — exactly what makes Sondheim’s work so timeless.

The production features a talented ensemble of local performers and creatives and continues Wisteria’s mission to produce bold, joyful theater that builds community and inspires magic.
