InHouse Theatre and Assembly announce today that tickets are on sale for Mark Jude Sullivans Dark Spirits, Black Humor, to run as part of Assembly Festivals slate of online programming at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, August 8 - 29, 2021. The virtual performance, viewable from anywhere around the world, is produced by Los Angeles-based, site-specific theatre company, InHouse Theatre.InHouse Theatre, founded in 2014, is one of Los Angeles premiere site-specific and immersive theatre companies. Following in the companys tradition of staging full productions in nontraditional venues, Sullivan will perform Dark Spirits, Black Humor within the gorgeous Parisian salon-themed bar, The Wolves DTLA. Beginning as a charming, interactive cocktail-making demonstration, and morphing into a richly told ghost story that explores the world of classical theatre, the artists temperament, depression and ultimately the redemptive power of storytelling, Dark Spirits, Black Humor is a unique live performance experience that will bothcomfort and unsettle late night audiences. InHouse invites audiences to grab a drink, lower the lights, and enjoy a storytelling event like none other.Tickets are available for Wednesday and Sunday performances for 12 atwww.inhousetheatre.org/darkspirits.Dark Spirits, Black Humor is a love letter to haunted theatres, storied pubs, and the other strange places and lengths we go to find community, writer and performer Mark Jude Sullivan says. We want to find a way to bring people together online that recreates the intimacy of a small bar or theatre on a rainy night. When done well, the simple rituals of making someone a cocktail or telling them an engaging story are ways of building community. The Dark Spirits, Black Humor creative team includes Sullivan (writer, performer, producer), Elizabeth Schmidt (director), Todd Sandler (co-director, designer) and Daud Sani (designer).
