Following last week's announcement thatWickedwill be concluding its smash two-year L.A. engagement in January 2009, Broadway/L.A. today announced the lineup for its 2009 Season, with all productions scheduled to play at its flagship venue, Hollywood's historic Pantages Theatre (6233 Hollywood Blvd., Hollywood).
The seven-show Broadway/L.A. Season features the West Coast Premiere of the eagerly-anticipated Broadway musical, Dirty Dancing The Classic Story On Stage, and the Los Angeles premieres of two of Broadway's most popular current attractions, Legally Blonde: The Musical and Grease. A fourth local premiere production will be the first Los Angeles engagement of the Broadway stage extravaganza, Dr. Seuss' How the Grinch Stole Christmas The Musical. Rounding out the season will be the first return of The Phantom of the Opera to the Pantages in a decade, a new touring production of Fiddler on the Roof starring Topol (the Oscar-nominated star of the Fiddler film), and the return ofMamma Mia! Seven-Show Season Packages start at just $214.50 per person.Broadway/L.A. Season Ticket Holders also get first access to the best seats for two newly-announced Pantages engagements. The national tour of Rent, featuring Anthony Rapp and Adam Pascal from the original Broadway cast and the film, and the Los Angeles premiere of Rain The Beatles Experience will each have limited one-week runs.
