Bay Street Theatre, partnering with the Children's Museum of the East End (CMEE) will present 'MARTHA SPEAKS' live on stage at Bay Street Theatre today, May 11 at 11 am. The hugely popular children's animated series, MARTHA SPEAKS, is seen daily on PBS Kids and based on Susan Meddaugh's best-selling children's books, Martha the dog is given the power of speech after eating alphabet soup. This live presentation will have something to say to all ages.

2013 Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival Honors SCCC Students

Suffolk County Community College theatre students recently were selected to receive many major awards at this year's Kennedy Center American College National Theatre Festival finals in Washington, D.C. Suffolk Theatre majors captured multiple awards in numerous areas of the theatrical discipline, including performance, design, technology, and management. The competition attracts students from colleges offering Associate, Bachelors in Fine Arts and Masters of Fine Arts programs across the nation.

Bay Street Theatre begins the 2013 Mainstage Season with Lend Me a Tenor (May 28 - June 23). This hilarious Ken Ludwig comedy started rehearsals this week in New York City under the direction of Don Stephenson. The cast includes Judy Blazer, Scott Cote, Betsy DiLellio, Donna English, Nancy Johnston, Noah Plomgren, Steve Rosen and Roland Rusinek. Ticket prices are $59.50 and $69.50. The North Shore Arts Angels have announced that on Saturday evening June 15th, scores of alumni from North Shore High School will reunite to dust off their vocal chords for the 'Viking Masquers 50th Anniversary Gala,' a one night only fundraising event celebrating 50 years of musical theater on the North Shore stage. The gala, which includes an Alumni Show, a dinner with raffles and an auction, and an exhibit of a giant archive of theater memorabilia will take place at North Shore High School (450 Glen Cove Avenue, Glen Head, NY) with proceeds benefiting a special fund to revive the district's now defunct Summer Theater Workshop. Casting and special guest appearances to be announced.

This year the honorees were Hampton's Hometown Heroes including David Bray, Ana R. Daniel, Michael Grim and James Osburn. All four of the honorees support Bay Street as well as many other local businesses & non-profits in the Hampton's Community. The event is held Spring each year, not only to recognize outstanding patron involvement, but also to raise funds for its theatrical and educational programs.

The Minstrel Players Theatre Company of Northport Village kick off their 2013 Season with a Spring production of Tim Kelly's classic comic murder mystery, 'The Butler Did It, Again!'. They are coming off their successful annual holiday production of 'A Christmas Carol'. Performances will be over two weekends only tonight, April 27th and May 4th at 8 P.M. and Sunday, 3 P.M. matinee performances on April 28th and May 5th at Houghton Hall - Trinity Episcopal Church, 130 Main Street in scenic Northport Village.

On Thursday, April 4, 2013 Kevin J. O'Neill, Managing Director and Co-Owner of the John W. Engeman Theater, along with Robert Suarez, Assistant VP of Community Development from Bethpage Federal Credit Union, presented a check in the amount of $2,020 to Lance Elder, President and CEO of EAC Netowrk. Bethpage Federal Credit union partnered with the John W. Engeman Theater to help raise money for EAC Network.
