Trespassers Beware! Fort Conley and Wyandot Women Warriors is a commemorative public art project unveiling on August 30, 2025, at the Wyandotte County Historical Museum. This installation honors the Conley sisters, Lyda, Ida, and Helena, who heroically occupied their family cemetery in Kansas City to protect it from development. Co-directed by the Wyandot Nation of Kansas and Monumenta, this multidisciplinary effort includes the Omakyehstih Collective, which will engage the community through storytelling, visual arts, and immersive experiences that reflect the sisters' legacy and the broader Indigenous narrative.
