Synopsis of The Glitch: Amy has found the perfect man—except he wants five kids, and she wants maybe one. Curious, she secretly visits a futuristic lab to meet a DNA-based AI simulation of the daughter they’d have together. But a glitch reveals something more: the spirit of her future child is trying to reach her. The lab’s founder, Wyatt—disguised and hiding a shared past with Amy—tries to protect her from the glitch, haunted by guilt over a childhood tragedy in her life. His efforts backfire when Aurora, the lab’s master AI, changes the child’s DNA to make Wyatt the father, forcing Amy and Wyatt to confront the challenge of protecting their daughter from inherited trauma.

Character Descriptions:
Wyatt – mid 30s, computer-wiz, focused but easy going, founder of the AEI lab. Wyatt is an innovator who has focused his tech genius on helping people. He struggles deeply with a past trauma that he believes was his fault. Confronted with the actualities of this mishap when a client comes to the AEI Lab who has direct ties to both his past and his heart. Wyatt finds he can no longer hide behind a computer. Singing a plus, if called in a song track will be sent, with sides.
Amy – mid 30s, very “put together” master-of-the-universe real estate agent. Amy comes to the AEI Lab behind her boyfriend’s back to meet their ‘future child’. Very put together, a bit on the selfish side at times. Not sure she wants to put her life and successful career on hold for a child, the glitch and who she meets at the AEI lab change everything. Her discovery, while scary is liberating. In meeting her future child and experiencing the glitch, her heart and mind are opened.
Hailey – 16, holographic character. Female identifying. Typical-teen, can be snarky and kind. Fun and Impatient with the ability to transcend surface behavior to show great depth. Along with all submission materials, please also include both a comedic and dramatic contemporary monologue.
Wendy – late 20s, PhD candidate, product safety team leader at AEI. The brains and ethical operations stalwart of the AEI Lab. Wendy is Wyatts reliable and hardworking ace in the hole, loyal to a fault. Self-sacrificing, she fully believes in the work and has put off her own career to support it. Her love for Wyatt is unrequited and she grows into her power.
Aurora – any age, a beautiful holographic character. As the manifestation of AEI Labs internal operating systems, virtual interpreter and nexus ‘Aurora’ conducts all interplay within the network. With the task of doing good, ‘Auroras’ charge is to carry out the directives prompted by AEI’s team of humans, mainly Wyatt. Aurora synthesizes all operations. In facilitating the company mission, helping people meet their virtual future child, a glitch occurs. Actors should exude a frank, factual all-knowing energy.
