Following "1984" in April 2018, this will be Japan premiere of "Oresteia" adapted by Robert ICKE. An ambitious work recreated by ICKE, this play is based on "The Oresteia", a trilogy by Aeschylus on the tragedy of Orestes, and also incorporates other Greek tragedies.
Director KAMIMURA Satoshi is well acquainted with Greek tragedies, having directed "The Greeks" adapted by John BARTON and Kenneth CAVANDER, a compilation of ten Greek tragedies including Orestes, and is well noted for his directorial prowess in storytelling, classic or otherwise, from a critical and contemporary perspective. This theatrical piece is bound to gain worldwide attention.
